Uplifting their communities in South Africa one person at a time

In the modern world, we live in, it has become a significant subject to empower women. Women have always played a critical role in the development and progress of society. Whether it be behind the scenes or in the forefront, pushing boundaries and making a difference in the lives of others. Using their remarkable abilities and skills to uplift, inspire, educate, and empower other women in their communities.



One such example is Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe, a well-known philanthropist, businesswoman, and also medical practitioner, the latter is what she started out as, where she specialises in women's and children’s health.


She’s also the founder of the African Fashion International (AFI) and the Motsepe Foundation. Dr. Moloi-Motsepe offers support and helps with visibility with regard to empowering women in the fashion industry. Her foundation also provides grants for women-owned businesses and educational opportunities for young girls.




Multi-award-winning farmer Nonhlanhla Joye, is a founder of Umgibe Farming Organics and training institute. Mainly focusing on educating women in rural areas on how to grow their own crops organically and generating an income by means of selling their crops. This also aids them in providing nutritious and healthy foods for their families. The rural areas of Kwa-Zulu-Natal, where her main focus area is, have seen a significant impact in uplifting the community.


Africa Teen Geeks (ATG) is an initiative founded by another inspiring woman, Lindiwe Matlali. AGT provides opportunities for mentorship and leadership development as well as to develop their technological skills. Knowledge and resources needed to pursue a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), are but some of the focus points they aim to aid young girls with. The future of young girls in South Africa is greatly impacted by Lindiwe Matlali’s efforts.




Ultimately, women in South Africa are doing amazing things in their communities. These inspirational women and countless others are truly making a difference and providing opportunities for other women to grow and succeed. Through their remarkable efforts and inspirational leadership, South African women are paving the way for a brighter future for all.
